Training Philosophy
Every runner has the ability to improve given the right direction, attitude, and work ethic.
My job as a coach is to find ways to motivate you and help you reach your goals by
improving each day. There is no “ secret” to success. If you are willing to put in the miles
and listen to the advice from your knowledgeable coaching staff, success will follow.
I believe in making running enjoyable. If you aren’ t having fun, improvement won’ t be as
easy to obtain. My teams will be able to separate when it is time to have fun and when it
is time to work hard. When you work hard and see positive results isn’ t that fun? J My
goal is to get you motivated, educated, and inspired about this wonderful sport.
Our focus needs to be on what we are doing, not on what other people are doing. We
have the people in this program to have success every year at MHS. I am very fortunate
to be a part of this program and look forward to continuing the success and building it to
a whole new level.
Things that will help you get better when you are not running:
1 – Consistent sleep
2 – Good eating habits
3 – Hydrating your body
4 – Positive thinking
5 – Seeking out knowledge about the sport
Believe in your abilities and success will follow,
Coach Aaron Olswanger
